Old Mystery TV Shows Are Interesting

Many years ago people could not wait to turn on their television sets on a Saturday night. This is when there were quite a few old mystery tv shows over the airwaves. Anyone could sit back and relax while tuning into these old time favorites which still can generate an audience. Viewers did not have to worry about seeing sex or violence while viewing any of these unique programs.

The fabulous older woman named Miss Marple could always be seen on certain PBS stations across America. This is a character which was created by the late great Agatha Christie. Joan Hickson was one good actress who portrayed this icon for many years.

When Ms. Hickson passed away her role was handed over to another woman who was a few years younger. The younger actress could not really play the part as well as Joan. Even though this change was made the series went on for a bit of time and the viewers still watched. Miss Marple was always lucky to have the chief inspector helping her out with crime cases.

People who were interested in real life cases often tuned into the television series "Unsolved Mysteries" which ran on NBC for a period of time. Robert Stack was the good looking actor who hosted this spectacular event and he would inform everyone about the latest crimes that were happening. The show even helped the police capture real life criminals who were still on the run. At times Mr. Stack's daughter would help him co-host this special television series.

"Scooby-Doo" is a well known American cartoon character who enjoyed solving crimes each and every week. Fred, Velma, Shaggy and Daphne accompanied Scooby on his weekly missions. The villains within this series never tried to kill Scooby and his crew which was very unusual. This particular show tried to be light hearted and the producers did not want to frighten young children who were viewing the show. Fortunately this was one cartoon show which lasted for many years and it had a variety of spin-offs.

The producers decided to use real life singers for the voices of Josie, Valerie and Melody on a series called "Josie And The Pussycats." All three of these girls were very pretty and they were also detectives. The viewers were treated to their singing talents on each episode and some of the recordings became big hits. One character named Alexandra is featured more on the television series than she is within the comic books. Alexandra also had magical powers in the earlier comic magazines.

"The X-Files" was a completely offbeat series which focused on supernatural events that were happening within a small crazy town. The agents on this series would try their best to investigate these happenings and sometimes the villains were actual demons.

FOX Television was lucky to have this hit series over the airwaves. It was also quite interesting that the lead male character became obsessed with dirty movies while his female counterpart was really uptight. All of the people living in America had the chance to learn about ghostly events while this show was on.
